Estelle’s Bookstore, a digital haven for unique, independently published activity books, aimed to create products that seamlessly blended entertainment and education. Their flagship product, Music Legendz, was the first interactive music history coloring book series, celebrating Black American musicians and recording artists across genres from Ragtime to Rap.
Challenges
Crafting the unique narrative of musical evolution posed a significant challenge. We needed to seamlessly blend education and emotion, ensuring Music Legendz not only informed but also resonated deeply with its audience. Establishing a global online sales platform that was not just efficient but also user-friendly was crucial. Additionally, effectively educating potential customers about the coloring book’s intricate features posed a complex task.
Solution
My approach involved meticulous curation and vibrant illustration, bringing to life four musicians/recording artists per decade. We developed a user-friendly eCommerce site, accessible through QR codes integrated into the book, ensuring a seamless purchasing experience. Employing a creative arsenal including ProCreate, Photoshop, InDesign, Figma, and more, we combined artistic flair with technological finesse.
The Results
Craft a mark that exuded sophistication and elegance, mirroring the essence of the musicians portrayed. The color scheme, consisting of simple black, gray, and white tones, was accented with a bold touch of bright red, symbolizing vibrancy and passion.
